This new feature gives approved instructors/administrators the ability to award credit or not approve credit directly within Practicode when a learner’s answer deserves a different score than the system originally assigned.
What This Means for You
Instead of submitting support tickets or waiting on backend updates, your instructional team can now make scoring adjustments instantly while reviewing a learner’s case.
Instructors can:
- Mark specific code entries, modifiers, or units as correct, which will auto-recalculate the learner’s total case score automatically in real time
- Mark specific code entries as incorrect, but provide direct feedback to learners about why they are incorrect
Built-In Transparency for Learners
Every score adjustment is clearly documented and visible to the learner (based on user settings). Each change includes:
- What was changed, and what the original score was
- The updated section and total case score
- Instructor feedback explaining why the adjustment was made
- The instructor’s name
- The date and time of the update
This helps learners understand their performance and learn from instructor guidance rather than being confused by unexplained score changes.
Accountability and Compliance
All adjustments are fully tracked in the system. This creates a complete audit trail that records:
- Which case and answer were edited
- Who made the change
- When it was made
- Why the credit was given
Administrators can request a report on adjusted cases, making it easy to monitor grading consistency, support quality assurance, and meet compliance or documentation requirements.
Key Benefits
- Faster instructional support - Instructors can respond immediately when a learner provides valid coding support that the system could not automatically recognize.
- Reduced support workload - Fewer tickets and manual interventions are needed for score corrections.
- Improved learner trust and clarity - Learners see exactly why credit was given, reinforcing learning and reducing disputes.
- Stronger oversight - Organizations maintain full visibility into when and why manual scoring changes occur.
Overall, this feature gives your team more flexibility in evaluating real-world coding judgment while maintaining clear documentation and control.
