Before you begin searching, you can customize how Codify displays your search results.
Access Search Settings
- Click inside the search bar at the top of Codify.
- The search menu will expand below the search bar.
- Select Search Settings on the right side.

Choose How Code Sets Open
For each available code set, choose either Listing or Details.

Listing
When you search for a code, Codify opens a listing page that includes the code you searched for along with surrounding codes.
This can be especially helpful for ICD-10-CM searches when you need to:
- Review related codes
- Expand the code hierarchy
- Locate additional digits
- Compare surrounding codes
Details
When you search for a code, Codify takes you directly to that code's details page.
You can still navigate between related or surrounding codes using the navigation options on the details page.
Set Your Auto Favorite Preference
Choose Yes or No for the Auto Favorite setting.
If you select Yes, Codify can prompt you to add a code to your Favorites after you have searched for the same code five times.
Select No if you do not want Codify to display these prompts.
Choose Your Default Search Tab
Choose which search option appears automatically when you click inside the Codify search bar.
Available options include:
- AI Smart Search
- Code Sets & Indexes
- Tools
- Publications
You can switch between these options at any time.
Save Your Search Settings
When you are finished, select Save Search Settings.
Your preferences will now be used when searching in Codify.
Set Your Code Set Year
Make sure you are using the appropriate Code Set Year before searching for coding information.
- Click inside the search area.
- Select the Code Set Year dropdown.
