Using the Search and Navigation in Codify

The Codify search and navigation experience makes it easier to find the coding content, tools, publications, and account resources you use most.

This article walks through the available search options, how to set your Code Set Year, and where to find key features in the updated navigation bar.

Use the Codify Search Bar

The search bar is located at the top of Codify.

Use it to search for:

• Keywords
• Individual codes
• Code ranges
• Coding terms and topics

Begin by entering your search term in the field, then select the search icon to view results.

Choose What You Want to Search

Before searching, choose the content area you want Codify to search.

Available search options include:

AI Smart Search

Select AI Smart Search to search using Codify’s AI-powered search experience.

This option helps you find relevant coding guidance and information based on your search question or topic.

Code Sets & Indexes

Select Code Sets & Indexes to search coding code sets, indexes, and related coding content.

Use this option when searching for a specific code, code range, diagnosis, procedure, or coding term.

Tools

Select Tools to search for available Codify tools.

This is helpful when you know the type of tool you need but are not sure where to find it in Codify.

Publications

Select Publications to search available publication content, articles, and reference materials.

Set Your Code Set Year

You can set the Code Set Year directly from the search area.

Select the Code Set Year dropdown, then choose the year of coding data you want to use.

For example, selecting 2026 means Codify will search using 2026 code set information.

Your selected Code Set Year helps ensure your searches and coding references align with the correct year of data.

Note: You can also update your Code Set Year from your personal account menu. Updating the year there sets the year Codify uses throughout your experience.

Adjust Search Settings

To further customize your search experience, select Search Settings from the search menu.

Search Settings allows you to review and adjust your available search preferences before running a search.

Use this option when you want more control over how Codify returns results.

View Recent Searches

When you open the search area, Codify displays a list of your recent searches.

Select a recent search to quickly run that search again without re-entering the term.

Recent Searches can be useful when you need to revisit:

• Frequently used codes
• Previous diagnoses or procedures
• Common coding topics
• Recent research

Navigate Codify

The updated navigation bar provides quick access to the main areas of Codify.

AAPC Home

Select AAPC Home to return to the AAPC website.

Dashboard

Select Dashboard to return to your Codify homepage.

Your Dashboard is a central place to begin working in Codify and access the resources available to you.

Code Sets & Indexes

Select Code Sets & Indexes to access coding references, code sets, and index content.

Use this menu to locate the coding resources included with your Codify subscription.

Coding Tools

Select Coding Tools to access the Codify tools available to you.

The tools displayed may vary depending on your subscription and permissions.

Crosswalks

Crosswalks now has its own navigation tab.

Select Crosswalks to access available crosswalk resources without needing to locate them within another menu.

Publications

Select Publications to access articles, publication content, and other available reference materials.

Get Help or Contact Support

Select the question mark icon in the upper-right corner of Codify when you need assistance.

From here, you can access:

• Codify help resources
• Support information
• Options for contacting Codify Support

Use this menu whenever you need help finding a feature, understanding a tool, or resolving an issue.

Access Your Personal Codify Menu

Select your name icon in the upper-right corner to open your personal Codify menu.

From this menu, you can access account and personal workspace features.

Manage Your Account

Select My Account to manage your Codify account information.

View Recent Updates

Select Recent Updates to view recent Codify updates and notifications.

Access My Codify Resources

Under My Codify, you can access:

• Favorite Codes
• Favorite Articles
• Notepad
• CEUs

These options help you quickly return to the codes, articles, notes, and learning resources that are most important to you.

Update Your Code Set Year

You can also update your Code Set Year from the personal menu.

The Code Set Year selected here determines which year of data Codify uses during your experience, including when you search for codes, terms, and related coding information.
