Accessing the Search Bar
Locate the Perpetual Search Bar
The Codify search bar is always available — no matter what page you’re on.
You can use it at any time to find codes, tools, and references across the entire platform.
Choose Search Settings
Click the dropdown next to the search bar to set your preferred search scope:
Code Sets – Search by ICD, CPT®, or HCPCS codes
Indexes – Search by indexed medical terms
Code Sets & Indexes – Combine both for broader results
Tools – Locate calculators, crosswalks, and other utilities
Publications – Search AAPC publications and official references
Searching in Codify
You can search in multiple ways depending on your goal:

The AI-Powered Smart Search is built right into Codify — no add-on required.
It uses artificial intelligence to interpret natural language, acronyms, and multi-word phrases to find the most likely matching codes.
How to Use Smart Search
In the search bar, enter a keyword, acronym, or natural phrase.
Examples:

Press Enter or click the search icon.
You’ll be taken to the Search Results page.
Click on the AI-Powered Smart Search tab to view your results.
